In June 2007, Fleur performed the song-cycle A Song for the Lord Mayor’s Table, by Sir William Walton, at the renowned Walton estate ‘La Mortella’, Ischia, in South Italy, and has since performed a number of Walton’s other song cycles in the UK. In January Fleur performed James Macmillan’s ‘Búsqueda’, a large scale piece for instrumental ensemble, 3 sopranos and actors with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic 10/10 Ensemble as part of the City of Culture Festival 2008. In the March opera production at the RNCM, Fleur sang the high coloratura role of ‘Le Feu’ in Ravel’s L’Enfant et Les Sortileges. She also enjoyed working at Clonter Opera Company in July, performing the role of Manuelita and covering the role of ‘Frasquita’ in Bizet’s Carmen. Fleur also performed with the company in their London performances of Carmen, held at the Britten Theatre in October.
In December, Fleur relished performing the principal role of Adele in Die Fledermaus, Strauss, at the RNCM and the role of Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneus with the Manchester Camerata, January 2009, which was recorded by BBC radio 3. Fleur recently also sang the virtuosic role of Cunegonde in the new Opera North/ RNCM production of Bernstein’s Candide, conducted by James Holmes and directed by Stefan Janski.
Opera performances last summer included the roles of The Sandman and The Dew Fairy in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel at the ‘Mananan International Opera Festival’ and ‘Uzerche Festival International de Musique’. Fleur also covered the role of Swan in the new Opera North commission Swanhunter by Jonathan Dove and sang the role of Nitocris in Handel’s Belshazzar in January 2010, with the Manchester Camerata and conductor Nicholas Kraemer. Other opera engagements have included the role of Rosalinda for Opera South East’s new production of Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni for Longborough Opera and Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme for Opera South East. Future opera engagements for 2011 include the role of Josephine in HMS Pinafore at the White Rock Theatre, Hastings; Gianetta in L'elisir d'amore, Donizetti, in The Mananan Festival, Isle of Man; Papagena in Mozart’s The Magic Flute with Mantissa Opera, and an arragement of Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor for Opera Minima. Fleur is also a member of the Philharmonia Chorus Professional Singers Scheme and recently enjoyed her debut as soloist in The Royal Albert Hall for Raymond Gubbay productions.
